Allegiant Bases

Company would be clever to put the Max in the most senior bases and take the Bus out. Tell the senior people if they don't like it they can move to FNT and follow it. They'll have no problem staffing the Max.

VPS has become senior. 12 FOs from there have Captain there as their first choice. 7 FOs from other bases are waiting to get in.
CVG can be had, it’s not super senior but not junior either. But only 1 FO is currently looking to bid in from outside. I would say less then a year.
IND is similar to CVG, I think a year of less.
I think all new hires can expect a stint of 6-12 months in one of our less desirable bases such as DSM, ABE, FNT, or ATW.

Not only are our bases hard location to commute to, the schedule is not friendly either. 2 on 1 off then 1 on 2 off, and so on. And on the last day of a group of reserves, they will move your reserve to a late period so good luck trying to get home that day. Unless you are a mid to senior line holder that is the life at Allegiant.

These big regional rates have been out for a few months now yet we still had 28 new hires show up last month. The company is still betting on a recession hitting next year, which they think will slow down legacy hiring and possibly fold a regional, charter or startup to keep the new hires coming in and slow attrition. That is the plan, keep paying G4 pilots at a 50% discount for as long as possible.

Now they’re apparently passing “sections” but it sounds as though they’re simply carving out the relevant parts of the “comprehensive package” and passing them off as sections. Great stalling tactic to drag this out as long as possible. Union is preparing to apply to the NMB for assistance as soon as they have passed all the sections themselves, but that’s probably still a few months away. And so we wait…

Bottom line is if you aren’t willing to wait 3-4 years for a new contract here, get out now. Or simply don’t come if you’re on the outside looking in. Attrition won’t make a major change until they start downgrading people once they realize staffing 737’s is a pipe dream and use them to replace the aging portion of the fleet. Reality will hit at that point and people will start heading for the exits. Unfortunately those people will have lost years of seniority at a real airline. There are plenty of people who are perfectly willing to ride it out here, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If you’re not one of those people the sooner you realize it the better for your own sake.
