That is the main reason I try and get the truth out about how different this place is, keeps people from wrecking their life and I'd rather fly with people that actually want to be here or at least really understand what you're signing yourself up for. Plus I'm sure the accountants already crunched the numbers and found out it's cheaper to keep replacing new hire attrition vs agreeing to a new contract that gives the whole list a 30% raise and decent work rules.
Yea I’ve flown with them and its sucks. Makes and a long day. Most of the time they have been sent to my base from somewhere not even close. I feel bad that they got swindled but at the same time wonder how they didn’t know what they were getting into. That’s why I’ve tried to be honest about what’s really going on here. I’d rather fly with people who actually want to be here too, not those who were sold a home every night lifestyle then never actually make it home.

I’m sure the company did do the math and thinks it’s cheaper to let them leave. That’s ego driven too. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard our CEO say those exact words. Leave if you don’t like it here. I’m not even sure attrition will drive the contract because they are still saying at least a year and slow rolling the union. I honestly believe they will just park planes and shrink the company if they can’t staff them. So we need to recruit people who already live in the new cities and want to stay. The senior bases will always staff themselves.

i think there are still a few recalled pilots unable to hold their pre furlough base, or waiting for the effective date, or they got it and then got tdy’d the first month.

Haha yep with a 2 year upgrade now on both the 73 and 320. $300k+ pay as you start year 3. Only hiring 10,000 more before the decade is over.
