Can you confirm that somehow? According to today's email there were 18 in July, I do not recall what the plan was. I'll put these numbers in right now from the email so we can compare again in a few months- 46 in August, 22 in September, 44 in October, 22 in November, 22 in December, 46 in January, and 44 in February.
Looks like 3 airplanes in Flint to start, that will be 17 new hires right there.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzz.
I don’t want to be a real whiner here cause I’ve been moving from base-to-base the past few years, but Flint is a real head-scratcher. It’s got a real “wth-why-would-I-move-for-this” feel too it. If I get assigned it…
I mean, just from a public safety perspective it’s gonna be a real hard sell. Never mind it’s a dying city with a decreasing population year-after-year. Boy I’m usually optimistic but this is my first real whining post.
On the plus side, it does make Des Moines and Allentown way more palatable.

Can someone please explain to me why a new hire would come here knowing they will be based in Flint until some other ****hole opens that can entice enough people to bid it? I get that the airline is a business, but on some level you have to try and operate where enough employees will want to live. This isn’t like any other airline where you can simply rely on people commuting to the domicile. 🤯
Those at HQ honestly believe we are the best airline, and people will want to come work here.
They also plan to recruit every pilot in the mitt who meets the minimum requirement. Lots of low time freight dogs up there. FedEx feeder caravans, Lears and falcons out of YIP flying for dog****** carriers. They'd sell their left nut to fly an airbus, and be home every night, or get their time to go to UPS or FDX.
They will have no problem filling the spots.

Nah, some junior chasers will go for it. Then spend 5 years b1tching on facebook about getting jerked around on reserve in blizzards until they get displaced, uh, I mean vacancy reduced back to the right seat in a senior base.

New hires will get awarded FNT, but by the time they finish OE they’ll bid out, creating a constant need to TDY. Allentown was like this before covid. On the captain side, it will likely be a constant churn of upgrades, creating the same problem of pilots being “based” in FNT, but never actually working there since they’ll be in the upgrade footprint. Unless they bring VBD back by Feb, this means pilots will be pulled from other bases to staff FNT… so much for being home every night.

I think the more likely scenario is, this will become a forced TDY nightmare base, only magnifying the misery.
