Currently 1 on the list to get in but 4 bidding out to a more senior base on the FO side. The company wants to double the base to 5-6 airplanes, not sure when that will happen though.

JQF base still a thing?
Just curious what the word on the street is, if any, about the JQF (Concord, NC). I know it was a go until the COVID bomb exploded last year but not a whole lot of information out there on if it's canceled or just delayed. Got the video interview today.

No one knows. They were quick to resume opening the DSM base, but claim to be re-evaluating/delaying JQF. Whether it eventually opens or not is anyone's guess. If they can make more money overnighting planes elsewhere, expect that. Also expect JQF to have some of the worst trip quality in the system if and when it opens due to its geography and current trip mix, and plan to move instead of commute to wherever you're based until it opens, if it ever does, as commuting here is not practical.

Wildcard is if the AVL base grows but I don't think there is any room.

With the short, narrow single runway, multiple huge obstructions nearby, small terminal, weather challenges, busy CLT airspace, huge amount of GA traffic, and a ramp that can't reasonably accommodate more than 2 planes, JQF would be a terrible place to base a/c at. The operation will be a miserable cluster all the time. I hope wiser heads are prevailing at HQ on that one. With the exception of the handful of pilots we have who live in CLT, it's guaranteed to perpetually be the most junior base.
