I'd say best case scenario 5 years.
With increasing competition, our multiple small bases growth strategy and almost inexistent retirements, I'd plan for 7+ years.

Contract at Spirit is really good right now. People are going to make their careers over there ( not leaving for legacy as before)

Problem is I don't have a degree or PIC. (I have 2K jet SIC) Got a interview with Allegiant. Spirit IF pilot shortage gets real I may have a chance with my resume. I'm a little bit lost. Could get a type rating with Allegiant though.

100% accurate. I no longer pay AirlineApps $54 a year or update any other apps.

I left Allegiant after 2.5 years for Spirit. Thankfully I was hired into the Bus (at G4) which helped a lot. I highly recommend NK after working for both outfits. It’s night and day.

G4 could be a terrific place, but until that POS MG retires or dies off it never will be and you will be treated terribly.

But in the end don’t sweat making the jump to Spirit. According to everyone there there is a big merger announcement coming in July 🙄 🤷🏻‍♂️

Needless to say, if you need to commute, wait for spirit, frontier, etc. If you want to live in a base like DSM, AUS, LAS etc, and just drive to work occasionally, Allegiant is the way to go.

What cairbear never says is that he tried to commute at allegiant. He hated his life and jumped to NK for a much easier commute. Shortly after, allegiant opened a domicile is his home town in which he would have been a relatively senior captain. He has never been able to get over his decision and comes here often to justify his move with all of us and himself.

His response to this will be a list of all the reasons why spirit is better. Sorry man, but if you live in base, allegiant is better, especially a base you would be senior in. Moral of the story: don’t commute, move to a base.

That’s why cairbar has to come here 1000 times a month and tell everyone the story to justify the move to spirit. Live in base this gig is the best hands down.
