A Feb 19th hire was able to hold it on the last bid, but thats not effective til August 1st. So they will be at another base for about 2 months. There are now a few FOs waiting to get in. It could take a similar timeline as that junior pilot, longer, or shorter. Its very hard to tell.

The June 3rd class will have vacancies from the May bid so it's too early to see what's remaining until the 20th of May. June will likely be different but the last class had airbus ABE, ATW, BLI, CVG, DSM, FLL, FNT, IWA, LAX, PGD, PIE, PIT, SAV, SFB vacancies.

thanks. I heard you’ll get base assignments the first week. Is that accurate?

approximately, yes. Either way, you should know within a day or two of starting what you'll get, as everyone's seniority will be known, what they want, and what's available. Might take into the second week for the results to become official.

Any info or vibe feedback on BLI? I have heard that it has pretty high FO turn over, but am curious as to what kind of reputation it has as a base in regards to QOL and Sr/Jr. Is it a hard base to get into and stay at?
Thanks
Thanks

But if you wanna upgrade or hold a line it’s not the base for you. You’re gonna sit reserve and get your min guarantee with very few opportunities to pickup open trips.

Thanks for the quick reply - QOL is #1 for me right now.
Is it an easy base to get into? By easy, I mean directly, or within a year?
Thanks again

BLI is a great base unless you want to move up in seniority. It’s very stagnant and will not grow for the foreseeable future. The QOL is great from what I hear, I know several reserves don’t even stay current for part of the year because they rarely get called out.

BLI, moves very very slow they have been a 2 plane base for years now. Growth has not happened or even been talked about. Some of the CA up there sat reserve for over 10 years to get to a line. What happens to FO's is they either give up the wait and take and upgrade in another base and move or they go to Alaska. It has been a joke in BLI since it opened 17 years ago that the fastest upgrade is to go to Alaska. Quality of life is great even on reserve as its to far to use in other bases so once the 2 planes are out Reserve call out is very unlikely. Junior pilots on a rare have been TDY out when that happens can suck because you can end up in Florida for a month. There are a couple retirements coming up so will move some in the near future but then it might not see any upgrades for another ten years. The last opening for CA a pilot currenly in the top 5 in the company took. In the last ten years there has maybe been 4 CA spots open for bid. I think only like 1 went to a current BLI FO. Reserve can be years long and you will fly very minimally a lot have to call in and get placed on schedule to keep current. I think right now line holding CA's all have 15 years plus at Allegiant. Those are some of the reasons for turn over at the FO possition.

There's actually around 6 CA's retiring in the next 3-4 years so lot's of movement if you can hang in a while.
