Ehhh, are we really back to the "go to the big 3' BS again?

4 years ago the big 3 were furloughing and sending WARN notices to pilots with 7 years on property, literally the day after the government shutdown. Please stop telling people to go the big 3 blindly. For some, AS might be the right fit. It is for me which is why I stayed. We overstaffed due to attrition as the same time as Boeing crapping its pants. Yep, it absolutely caused a pause in hiring but are all the lifers here really back to immediately crapping on the company and telling people to go somewhere else?

That being said, for anyone waiting, go with the first that calls and continue to say yes until you get to where you want to be. Don't wait on an opportunity that may or may not come.

Alaska was deadset on furloughing at that time as well.

Note that I didn't bring up the big 3 at all. Just that someone waiting on any airline to call is a fool. Get a seniority number where the paycheck matches the paintjob. Decide from there.

Nobody did. It was a stipulation of accepting federal assistance.

We didn't send WARN letters out either. We didn't downgrade, we simply offered EILs. And this was BEFORE the notion of accepting federal assistance.
