Can't come up with a good answer for your questions but this is the contract language.

25.T.3

3. A Long call Reserve Pilot is eligible to pick up a premium trip. The premium will
be paid in addition to his total pay value for the Month.

Intent: Posted premium trips that are not picked up by Long Call Reserve Pilots
lose their premium status prior to those trips being assigned to Reserve Pilots

Company probably allowed such trips to retain premium status since LCR can pick up trips that extend into their days off. If they don't pick it up, it might not be assignable to any LCR, so the premium incentivizes pickup of a trip that's already going to be hard to cover (or it wouldn't be premium in the first place).

I really don’t know how to bring this up so here it goes…

I have been recently terminated by my employer at Avelo for reasons I still don’t understand. The Chief Pilot said some inappropriate things to me which included racist comments. I gave my notice and was later told that I would be terminated instead.

Would I be turned down immediately by HR? I really don’t know how to explain my firing. My final letter stated they found information on my background but they didn’t clarify what it was.

Since my firing, the Chief Pilot has been removed from roster and an investigation under way. But it still can’t explain my situation. I did complain to HR when inappropriate comments were made.

Some people mentioned my situation on the Avelo thread on the last few pages.

Avelo Air. News and info

Thank you, any help appreciated.

Pretty sure Alaska HR is well aware of how loose and fast airlines like Avelo, Breeze etc are when it comes things like this. They recognize the poor HR performance and ego mania that is alive and well at start ups….If there is nothing in your back ground dont worry about it too much

I certainly wouldn’t worry about any sketchy black mark from Avelo sticking…just be sure to explain whatever happened professionally, matter-of-factly and non-victimy. You got this.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I have been really depressed about this. It’s been the first time that I ever have been fired and it’s not a good feeling.

With my family’s support, I am hoping I can rebound.

Contact a labor attorney. Dont take advice from randos on a forum.

Yes, of course…good advice and a few bucks well-spent.

Learn and live on. Cant change the past, but one door closes, often leads to better doors opening. Best pilot labor market in generations, uou'll be fine.
