Also are they only located in the CA bases or did they spread them out after acquiring VX?
Only in CA. Soon to be only LAX.

I assume they're putting new hires there because there's nothing to keep more senior new hires from bidding off of the bus asap (no seat lock). They still have to man them for as long as they have left.

Or they aggressively displace off the bus and then realize their mistake and they're forced to backfill later.

Will this new TA improve schedule flexibility at all with PBS coming? I did see some responses earlier that mentioned it may be easier for commuters to list for JS with the TA.

I have seen several screen shots of FOs at Frontier and Spirit showing approved drop/trade/swap requests in Flica to adjust their respective schedules. Wondering if this could be similar at Alaska in the coming months?

Yep, that was/is the goal with the new TA and PBS.

I talked to the recruiter today and asked about this. She says they intend on putting all new hires in the 737.

Key word: recruiter. Misleading even if unintentionally…it’s basically the job description. Pity the fool who listens.

I think that is simply bad info…the 2023-02 position bid has at least 30 spots for new hired to fill on the 320 in LAX. I think it’s possible to get now, but will certainly fade as time goes on.

IMO this is an unknown. Our new contract requires improved staffing. It is yet to be seen if the airline will be able to staff this new model. Another issue is how the company will interpret the language. Personally, I'm hoping for the best and planning for the worst.
