Good thing you never joined the military, then you'd get no choice.

Priorities count though, and if you can choose, then choose wisely.

So….only 277 new apps on file, how do we expect to grow as per plan?
Company wants 500-600 new pilots for projected growth, thst math don’t add up.

You’ll know your base and aircraft before you start class at Delta, if you get something west coast based which is essentially everything except the 717 you have your answer. Go to Alaska and await the class email and leave from there, plenty have done it before plenty are doing it currently and they’ll be boatloads after you. Worst case you stay at Alaska and have a decent career.

I spent a decade in the military. FreqFlyer’s priorities sound fine to me.

I feel sorry for your young kids at home if you have any…..if not, well then more power to you.

We obviously have different priorities in life, and that’s fine. You do you, and i’ll do me.

Short sighted. Enjoy working the holidays for the next twenty years. Ask your Captains how kick summer vacation they hold and how many holidays off they get. Right now you can have your cake and eat it too.

Nice try, but that is all way over exaggerated…

You completely missed the point.

Yes his priorities are great, but if EVERYONE took that tack, we'd have no viable military service as you get no choice but to leave home for longer periods of time.

Since he has the choice, I too agree that he has made a valid decision.

Beautiful thing about this career is there is a trip, path, plane, location, schedule, or company for everyone.

This doesn’t sound like too bad of an idea considering the timeline over at delta. A recent data point on their hiring thread was 3mo to notification of a class date about 4.5mo away from interview.

Your last sentence is dead on. Thank you.

How did we even get on the topic of the military? I was referencing having no desire to do a transcon commute….and suddenly it turned into something about joining the military? This forum is darn weird sometimes….
