Any recent hires care to share what their reserve experience has been like? Number of work days, days off between, how much have you been used, etc.
How about training…was it straight thru for 12 weeks with no breaks? Does training shutdown for any holidays? Is it 5, 6, or 7 days a week or a more random schedule? Where did you go for the sim?

Mostly Mon-Fri, with the occasional Sat. here and there. Positive space to & from home if you don’t live in SEA, so you can go home on the weekends. No training on holidays, Christmas usually shut down for the whole week. Lots of PHX sims for newhires as mentioned above.

12 days off on reserve. Plan to work every single reserve day, as you probably will. Maybe 1-2 days of not getting used in the month if your lucky, but don’t count on it.

Currently on reserve as a new hire and I have been used sparingly and have gotten an extra day off with the new DH policy. The reserve coverage is much better than in the past. July I flew 12 of my 15 reserve days and so far this month I have had 9 reserve days and flew 5 days.

Are you on the bus or the Boeing?

He picked his screen name to poke fun at another poster who wasn't shy about expressing his reasoning for leaving. I don't think you'll get an honest answer out of him. Although it does seem like reserve staffing has been much better lately.

I am on the Boeing out of SEA and I picked my screen name before seeing it was close to someone else's name.
I try and preference trips that either finish early my last day or finish late the day prior. I am on the 3am RAP so if I get done late there isn't much opportunity to use me the next day especially when there is RAP after mine to be used.
