And No, don’t prestudy. You’ll do nothing but waste your time, the training is very good and will teach you everything you need to know.
It's day 1 of indoc but day 2 overall. Day 1 is still the mass gathering and big intro to the company then day 2 it's just the pilots.

Default training failures

Local west coast person here and have a quick question and would appreciate some feedback. Always wanted to come to Alaska as I am from the SEA area. Been flying 121 for 10 yrs now, however, like some of us at some point we have had our shares of challenges in our career and lives. I have recent 121 failures within the past few years. I own up to them and had my reasons for not performing to expectations on that given date and accepted my fate. But long story short I am still actively flying 121 and currently in a job. But like i said Alaska has always been my lifetime goal. Wanted to get input from the pilot group here on how does Alaska view previous training failures and what are my chances if any of still being given a potential offer if I land a interview. Thank you for your input.

"121 failures," plural? I'm not in hiring so ultimately my opinion isn't worth much, but I've gotta imagine that getting hired anywhere is gonna be an uphill battle.

Having said that, the bar had been lowered significantly at Alaska over the past 6 months so who knows. It's obviously worth a shot.

If you have a PNW address and you have moved well beyond the training failure then odds are good.

Just own it, tell them what you changed after the failure, they are going to ask you about it so have an awesome answer (bonus points if you throw in one of the core values into your response). This podcast is a must listen for prep (Talking Flight episode 52):

considering there’s 5 individuals I know personally going to the big 3 with both initial AND upgrade training failures (2 of the 5 washed out of upgrade) it’s not a big deal in todays market. Do you have a pulse? Are you an HR disaster waiting to happen?

Most people who fit this profile don't have the self awareness to recognize it.

Any recent hires care to share what their reserve experience has been like? Number of work days, days off between, how much have you been used, etc.
How about training…was it straight thru for 12 weeks with no breaks? Does training shutdown for any holidays? Is it 5, 6, or 7 days a week or a more random schedule? Where did you go for the sim?

very laid back schedule. Only weekdays up until sims. Sims were done in PHX for most of it then they bring you back to SEA. Expect about a 3 month time frame from start to finish (not including OE). We had a two week break with 4-5 day breaks scattered throughout.
