Why you hating on me when I believe “my MEC speaks for me.”

Which means, if my MEC votes yes on a TA and then passes it to me for a vote, I’ll vote yes too. Because my MEC speaks for me. Why, do they not speak for you?
Why even put it to the masses for a Vote if you believe in that “my MEC speaks for me” in all things, your logic doesn’t make sense!

It was sarcasm. It’s just so overused. Of course it’s a one way street argument, it only applies to management, but not for me.

Have several buddies at United, they sound mad about this TA. They aren’t in the my MEC speaks for me mood today.

To read this, you would have thought they hit it out of the park.

To say we are not going to fair well in negotiations going forward is an understatement.

The MEC is in absolute lockstep that they will not push a TA over the finish line for the sake of having a TA.

It’s been said multiple times on podcasts, this will not be a 51% vote…..that they won’t deliver a TA to the pilot group unless they are 100% convinced that it will pass with flying colors.

This MEC has worked tirelessly for better part of the last 4 years to rebuild and unify this pilot group and knows that without unity? We have nothing.

So ACMI (with a day 1 positive space commute) or Alaska? Willing to live in base.

It depends on so many things. What are your goals? Do you want to move on to FedEX or UPS. Or move on to Delta or UA? Do you want to do long extended rotations and enjoy your long extended moments of time off? Or do you want to have a few days off here and there with a bunch of 3-4 day trips? Probably the same amount of night flying at both operations. 25-30% of our lines are WOCL or have WOCL flying. 737 or widebody? International or never cross the Atlantic?

You're really the only person who can answer your question. If you have specific questions about AS I'll do my best to answer them.

I enjoyed my time at an ACMI carrier. My time at Alaska not so much. The pay is better. The work rules, time at home and variety are WAY worse. I commuted at ACMI and drive at Alaska. If I was 10 years younger, I would not still be here at Alaska. Pay is not everything. Your mileage may very.

Something new I saw, in the bid awards at the back end are dozens of pages of peoples’ submitted bids. But people that left are also shown as Resigned. Doing a Ctrl-F for resigned highlights those who left.

I call BS. The junior OF line holder (SEA-737), has been on property less than a year and held a line with 190 TAFB. Next crappy OF line was 160hrs TAFB and 14 calendar days off. Accumulating TAFB is literally how you make money at any ACMI or even FedEx. Longer the trip = more $$$

This place ain’t perfect, and reserve blows a$$ 10 ways to Sunday around here. The 5, 6, or 7 day trips, all hand built with zero regard to fatigue mitigation, and whatever can be imagineered with Open Time trips by the minions stuck between the rock and a hard place at Angle lake. So unless you’re on reserve, which is short lived these days…
The difference in QOL between LH/OF and RSV blew my mind. You either ain’t been here very long or just you prefer to get off on b!tchin and complaining.
