I’m not here to turn this into a civ vs. mil ****ing contest so don’t get your panties in a wad. As a veteran myself, you have to admit that there are more than enough Uncle Sam’s yes men. Majority of those who elect to climb the corporate ladder tend to be spineless and lack integrity. Just look at the previous and current CPs, VPs, and Directors. When I was hired here, there were a lot more of them here in middle management and at the bowling alley. GT was a rare one and look where he ended up. It’s a given that veterans/mil retirees who receive government bennies have different needs than someone who doesn’t. FYI, veterans/mil retirees have earned every penny of those benefits. At the end of the day, each pilot will vote with their pockets. This mentality can perhaps change with union’s leadership. I’m cautiously optimistic.
I do however, wholeheartedly second the idea that those who serve in the military deserve every bit and more, of the pensions, benefits, and privilege that they have earned as a result of their commitment and sacrifice.

It takes a particular person to not be afraid to shine the light on one's own self and/or group and point out weaknesses, despite the many strengths that exists.

I never said or implied that anyone said military retirees don't deserve what they get. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Can’t speak to the specifics but a buddy recently was not invited to an in person interview after the phone call, he thought he did pretty good on it as well…not sure it’s exactly a cake walk. Probably best to practice a bit.

I’m a PNW native and I’m down with staying at Alaska for my career. Currently at QX. I think they will get a new contract and it will be a good place to be. If you ask any pilot 20-30 years ago (the amount of time I have left in my career) “the place to work” then, either doesn’t exist today or isn’t the place to be at today. My big thing is being located in the PNW, so Alaska is the best choice. A few bucks of pay really doesn’t make much of a difference to me.
From what you posted on UA forum, that DL turned you down and hoping UA will call.
