Alaska Air Hiring

I'm just befuddled by your persistent pessimism. What's your angle? What are you trying to convey? You keep repeating these "truths" you obviously have a point, but you never connect all the dots.
You're just out here keepin' it real for us delusional optimists, waiting for the dominos to start falling.
I'll tell you one thing, the difference between F9 and AS is clear. Look at who is actually presiding over the NMB. 2017 is not 2022. Elections matter. You think the past can adequately predict the future with 100% certainty, but this industry should have taught you by now, expect the unexpected.
Also, the snickerdoodle fell apart before it got to me.

Agreement in principle at United. Think we can kiss our new hires goodbye. Just talked to one from the school house who said 8 from his class have a interview lined up.
Meanwhile Alaska is making contract offers that gut our long term disability and have pay rates under what others are CURRENTLY making.

The “leadership” at Alaska Airlines is hoping for a mid-sized recession to help them get to a contract with us. Every boeing delivery can be delayed. It allows for a steady draw down of the without furlough of the Airbus. It blunts the effect of attrition and early retirement on the staffing model. Alaska usually does best when other airlines are scrambling. They will look like heroes for delivering all of us from an economic storm….rinse and repeat

Any pilot under 50 staying at Alaska who is not a millionaire is insane. DL rates soon to follow.
