Alaska Air Hiring

WN is not all interested in AS. I personally asked when a big wig came to talk to us FNGs. The 900s don’t fit WN’s model with point to point service and WN doesn’t want to deal with Horizon or the Airbus’s.
WN is focusing on growing organically and competing with the other recent ULCC merger. Sorry to bust your all’s bubble.

We have all seen this before though, you could be yanking gear for your classmates 😱…. Seems like right now you are pretty safe though.

I kinda agree… the buses are gone though, that is not an issue. 9’s are problematic but could be effective at slot controlled airports and transcons… Max10’s are obviously even bigger and farther outside the normal SWA model. Maybe that is another reason we are buying them. I am confident SWA and Alaska recently had discussions. I have no idea what the thought was with QX, clearly there are multiple options. I think the current oil price has everyone right now just holding their breath. Just a guess but I could totally see SWA just kicking the tires, looking for the regular SWA deal.

I seriously doubt I’ll be yanking gear for my AS classmates. Not sure if you’re even still there. Having been over there and now thankfully over here, I’d say in my opinion it’s a snowballs chance in hell that AS will ever takeover WN. I don’t think the new CEO is ready to leave his new job after being a 30 year WN veteran. Now if WN have a balance sheet that resembled AAs then maybe I would be concerned. On a side note, WN luvs AS pilots coming over. They’re glad I’m here.
