I would have to say its a "must" to go to Puyallup/WIA/OBAP. The ANC base chief stated that with the amount of quality pilots being referred to him there is no reason for them to pick a cold name out of the stack.

Thanks. That's the kind of answer I was looking for.

I had a pre-interview in January, went to Puyallup in the spring, got the interview in June. It definitely makes a difference, but the process is still slow.

Hey Ogilethorpe, is a pre-interview the same as a meet and greet? I went to Puyallup last February and met the LAX Chief in March and I still have not heard a word. Keeping the faith.

Between now and when the Messiah returns! Oh, and, it might or might not be SWA so the question should be, "when is xxx airline going to buy Alaskan Airways".

Having a stellar resume, attending numerous job fairs and having a personal meeting with a chief pilot does not guarantee a formal interview.

The harsh reality is that some applicants will get downed at some point along the line.

I wish everyone luck in their endeavors, but we all have to accept that not every airline will like or accept every applicant. We all need to keep our options/doors open.

Congrats! Good luck in training, contrary to what some knuckleheads think, it's a wee bit more than learning how to open a can of Coke!

I hope you enjoy being a FA as much as I do. It's either a career/lifestyle you love OR HATE. (no middle ground)

I don't work for Alaska, but if you have any general questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them!
