No. But another as pilot was denied. As well as an American pilot who brought in an as pilot on his jump seat. I'm not a commuter but I know that's really messed up and I did send an email to js committee

The is just a guess so take it for what it’s worth. Airlines have reported seeing advanced bookings dropping. Whether that is seasonal or covid I don’t know but I’d guess it is related to both. Hawaii has threatened to shut down the state and is asking airlines to encourage people not to travel there. As school starts more kids will get covid, some will be serious some won’t, but rest assured the media will portray things as all kids are dying which will create further hesitancy when it comes to non essential travel. Although there have been no announcements to this effect I’d suspect they are not interviewing nearly as many as they planned at this point and are playing a wait and see game.

To add to this, everything at Alaska happens really slowly. Even if COVID was not around, our hiring process is not a quick one.. just have to be patient and update when the window opens.

Did you see the news that QX will cover even more of the ANC base flying now? Seems like it will continue to get more difficult to get into that base will the mainline flying continuing to decrease.

Nice of those QX flight attendants, who went to training for 6 weeks and now have a "career," to explain to the rest of us why we at mainline should be happy about this

This drives me nuts more and more. On the AS Facebook group, on Alaskaworld and on the line. I love our in-flight crew members. I highly respect them and I consider us all part of the team. However, most of them are fresh out of college, or worked at Hot Topic before getting a job here, and they have no idea what’s going on. I am tired of seeing how cool it is to see our flying and jobs eroding. Hell, they are happy to see their own jobs and flying being transferred to the 175 and for the life of me I can’t figure out why they do that.
