Mainline frequency out of ANC has dropped from 98 percent in 2019 to 83 percent today

Mainline frequencies have dropped from over 90% to less than 40% at SFO. Almost all of the former VX flying is now operated by SkyWest DBA Alaska Airlines.

As a whole: SkyWest flying DBA Alaska Airlines is up 12 percent and Mainline Alaska flying is down 18 percent from 2019.

There are 36 less mainline aircraft at Alaska than there were in 2019

The number of regional aircraft has only decreased by one Q400.

It could be more, regional aircraft today than 2019 - if aircraft operated by SkyWest DBA Alaska Airlines were included. But I’m not sure about this.

Every pilot in the industry should be concerned by Alaska Airlines management’s prioritization of Regional airline expansion. As it represents an unfair advantage at the expense of a unionized mainline pilot group.

Precisely ! Now you few idiots (yes voters, since I was a kid etc) come chiming in about “this lottery” BS , “just leave” BS, “I’m sitting on my boat right now in gig”
Tell these folks how great a job it is, but just don’t forget to tell them how anti-labor groups the mgmt is, if you don’t , you obviously weren’t at any of the flight path meetings, scope has never affected an airline pilot (BT)

No QOL.
YOU MUST LIVE IN BASE FOR YOUR OWN SANITY.
A garbage CBA with no prospect for anything better.
If you ever want a summer vacation you'll have to wait until you have 30 years seniority.
If you want to hate your own existence come work for this airline.
You have been warned!
Of course if you are from the "since I was a kid crowd" have at it, you're just what they want, a robot that will eat **** and drink kool-aid.
100% spot on ! Take note Peeps, you’ve been warned !

Why would any other pilot group care? There is no scope language because the weak pilot group never made it a priority to demand it… now look where we are.. now We are the regional feeder to skywest.

this will not change. We won’t be getting scope nor anything resembling industry average or better. There is no motivation for management to come to the table and negotiate, nor is there a timeline or when any of this will be completed. They will drag this out for years until the pilot group caves for marginal improvements in a few areas but nothing significant. Or the company threaten significant plans to further ruin qol or add more regional planes if we don’t accept a bad ta and we will..

Just curious on what a typical rotation this year is like for a junior FO? Also as I was reading through here, do you guys bid a pre built line for the month instead bid trips like in PBS?

Lines are pre-built. No bidding of trips. just bidding of lines.

Thanks. How hard is it to drop a rotation?

On these pre built lines, what does a typical line look like for a junior FO?

Junior lines are lots of red eyes with 11 hour day sleeps, Anchorage all nighters, other generally punishing or unproductive flying and roughly 13 to 14 days off working virtually every weekend. The very worst lines might have 12 days off.
