I failed my initial CFI. Got asked about it on the interview.
Got hired anyway.
That was 20 years ago though.
Not sure on the “multiple check ride failures”.
Better have a good answer when the question comes.

By the time she demonstrated her abilities in the 121 world and passes a captain checkride at a regional it wont matter.
Hopefully it was just a case of checkrideitis and in a few years she will be solid

I wouldn’t think it would be a career ender. She should or anyone for that matter with a failed check ride should be prepared to answer with what they learned from failing the check ride, and what they did to be successful the next time. We are always learning, and if we hold ourselves accountable shouldn’t be that big of an issue.

Pinked my first IFR rating. Made light of it and made my bust a learning experience. Turn a negative into a positive....interviewing 101.
good luck!

I had two checkride failures when I got hired 3 years ago. Both were during initial training before CFI.

I have two friends with 1 121 failures on the record, and at least one with 2 121 failures. All hired within last 3 years.

Not sure how many/what kind of failures would be a disqualification.

But this is my anecdotal evidence that your friend is probably ok

Any guesses when AS might hire?

Obviously EILs have all to be called back and the Bus drawdown over the next 2 yrs going single fleet will probably mean less staffing (?). But any guesses as to when hiring might begin?

Interviewing summer of 2023 for fall class dates. It’s a murky crystal ball, but that’s what it looks like today. The next 18 months will be used to cross train.

Yikes. That would be a three and a half year gap in hiring

It will be 2024 before AAG's mainline fleet is more than YE2019. All the "new" aircraft order until then are replacement aircraft for the unloved VX airbus fleet.

Interesting considering that all of the big-3 will be hiring by the fall.

Cheers - Rob.
