Probably not, since you don't have an app on file. But the experience might be worth it.

It is! It is! Every contact you have with Alaska is recorded. Even if you don't have a resume on file, the contact will be recorded. If it's convenient for you to go, definitely do it.

If Alaska is where you want to work it definitely helps. I was helping at WAI and we were able to get people who had not applied into the system. Every event you go to is added to your file and it all helps.

As someone who's never been to one of these job fairs, any good advice on what to expect? Particularly from anyone who's been the Northwest Aviation Conference before?

Do not expect much and do not get discouraged. Just roll with it. Being there and putting your best foot forward is what is important. Think of it as interview practice. If you feel it did not go well don't worry, just nod your head, smile and keep at it.

You'll meet with a recruiter, most likely a Chief Pilot and they'll ask you basic questions about your background and why you want to work for Alaska. The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to be genuine with your answers and try your best to show them that you really want to be an Alaska pilot. If Alaska is your first choice that won't be a problem, for those just dying to fly for DAL/UAL/AA it will be tough to fool these recruiters.

For anybody who's gone to the NW Conf. in Puyallup before, is there any benefit to going on Fri for the actual career forum vs. Sat. or Sun. as far as talking to AS??

Yes, after some of the panel discussions you sometimes get to speak with Chief Pilot. Also, it is some great information.
