18 EJets this year for the regionals. AS gets 12 737-900ER but parks the remaining 10 737-400s. Net plane growth of +2 but a whole lot more seat capacity growth because the 900 seats a bunch more than the 400. There's your growth. And now according to the investor call, they are not going to take all 10 A321NEOs for Virgin and currently working on it with the lessor. As the Alaska guy above said, their idea of growth is seats and not necessarily airframes. This year the primary growth vehicle is the EJet just by sheer numbers alone.

I have to echo OCCP. If you're brand new not on the list yet, why come here? If you want SEA or ANC try Delta or FedEx/UPS. PDX is about the only unique base. And all 3 legacies have an LAX base that is starting to actually go junior. I've been at VX for 5 years now and if AA/DL/UA call and successful interview, I'm gone. A little while ago I would not have made that statement but today it's a different story.

I respect that. QOL could mean many things for different people, not just living in base. Flying up and down the coast, staying in the same time zone, and flying with good folks can be some of the positive. I think what others mean is that more money, better retirement, job security, and more time off=QOL. To each his own.

I'm in the left seat and feel that I'm too far along in life to leave. I've past the CP, so to speak. I could not recoup the lost wages and retirement if I were to start over again at a different carrier (ie. FedEx, DAL, etc.). If I were in my 30s (perhaps even early 40s), it would be a no brainer.

Rumor I heard is they canned a guy during training because PRIA papers from AA came across someone's desk. Any validity?

Haven't heard about it. As dysfunctional as the puzzle palace is, our training department is well run with bunch of stand up guys. I highly doubt that the company would fire someone for this reason. It's usually a chain of events that lead up to termination and not just one issue.

I think it was PRIA paperwork for AA on which he had to list AS as his employer the way I heard.
