Question - what is the possibility that Alaska/Horizon could order Bombardier CS100s as their "large" regional jets?
Think about it - Horizon is a current, long-time Bombardier customer, Bombardier needs more deals for the CS100, the CS100 offers tremendous route flexibility (can fly from smaller West Coast cities to Hawaii or fly short haul flights), Q400s could be SWAPPED for newer CS100s and, even more critical, Alaska pilots allowed for NO SCOPE RESTRICTIONS in their latest contract... The 100-seat CS100 is currently being phased in at SWISS to replace their older Avros on short haul European routes (even though it is capable of flying 2,500+ miles):

Why wouldn't Alaska/Horizon strongly consider the C-Series from one of their closest, long-term partners (Bombardier) if there are no current scope restrictions? With Alaska's need to fly longer, thinner routes out of SEA, PDX and ANC (you could fly ANC to IAH nonstop), sounds like the CS100 could be a good fit at the right price (especially if they could trade in some Q400s as part of a deal).
Again, just speculation at this point. Who knows what will happen....

I wrote a lot of it as it relates to Alaska/Horizon because it is very relevant. How about you do some research and actually think about it.
This is a possibility (it may or may not happen) because Alaska pilots did not protect their scope. No doubt Alaska and Horizon managements are well aware of this, and a new, technologically-advanced platform like the C-Series from a very close partner like Bombardier probably warrants some consideration. Without scope restrictions, a lot of possibilities open up... That's my point.

I've been looking into Horizon as a stop gap until I can get picked up by Alaska. Rumor had it that if you are hired by Horizon, Alaska will not look at you for two years, irrespective of hours/experience. Has anyone else seen/heard this?
