Sorry to disappoint you guys but there is no planned hiring until July. Four instructors were just sent back to the line and a lot of sim time is being sold to Frontier.
Of course that is all subject to change pending attrition. But for now the plan is no hiring until July and then only 25 or so guys for the remainder of this year.

Wow, didn't mean to offend you. Just trying to give some info to the guys asking questions. I was told that from a reliable senior captain, who has been trust worthy before.

I am willing to bet that no one at VX knows what the hell is up except for the BOD, David Cush, and maybe a few select others. You come up and report drivel from some senior captain who thinks he/she is in the know? Give the guys answers that have some basis.
Here are a couple facts.
-If you get hired at VX now, with the current aircraft delivery schedule, you will be on reserve for a long painful stretch of time. You cannot imagine how crappy reserve is.
-There is a new compensation package that is supposed to be presented this month.
-An airline that is actually growing (Frontier) is buying up simulator time in the VX sim and the VX sim instructors are now out flying on the line.
-VX workrules blow....straight and simple. If you are at a regional chances are your workrules are better.
With the current situation anyone considering accepting a job at VX should think really long and hard about it.
Feel free to pass other valuable tidbits to the poolies.

Reserve is always bad no matter where you are. I'd prefer to make a few more $$ to get treated as badly as I am now and I'm guessing it's not as badly as I'm treated now. I'm sorry to hear you're not happy, but the grass is always greener my friend, all about perspective. Feel free to check out a few regional contracts on your next overnight.
What did you do before VX? (not baiting, genuinely curious since you seem to think regionals have it so much better)

I doubt that any future new hires will be on reserve very long. 2014 will be a very telling year for this company and with all the competition in growth mode, it would be very unlikely that the BOD would just sit on their hands and watch us get killed in this expansionist market. They want to IPO this year and I believe that will happen, after that, I think growth is inevitable. Our product is still the best in the U.S. and it will only get better.
