Further, VX so far is in no way interested in feeding SFO/LAX. Their published mission is to offer high-quality, low-cost long haul point to point service between the western and eastern seaboards... maybe they should work on that before buying even MORE airplanes?

And even further, if anyone thinks that VX would buy RJ's and then fly them with VX crews, IMO never gonna happen.

I think VX should commit to its current routes, build frequency on them, further the brand recognition and gain brand loyalty. Seems like business 101.
Yeah I think we're on the same train of thought here. I myself don't believe that VX getting RJs for short haul back and forths make sense.

As far as southwest running up and down the coast with a 737, if the routes are full/almost full and profitable then I don't see why not.

Yeah, SW is making money doing that. They took a lot of that flying from other carriers. VX could try and now take that flying from them, but I think they are better suited for other ventures. SFO-LAX though, that one should be VX.

To all those interested, hired on April 15th and I take my type ride on Thursday. Training and culture here is top drawer stuff, great people everywhere. I have not been disappointed in any area.

Do you pay for your uniforms at Virgin?

Also, when during the training process do you bid for your domicile? Is it right away like other airlines. And how do they decide the seniority within each class?

AK...is all the training in SFO or is the sim training still done elsewhere?

VX buys the uniforms and your new matching luggage.

All training is done in Burlingame, either at HQ or the Training Center.

You can bid pretty quickly for your base, one of the guys in my class was awarded LAX already.

The method they use to determine seniority is a secret, it's not age or SSN, may be total time x number of types, divided by your interview date...
