Not looking forward to 15 across.

does anyone know the deal with the 401k and it switching to alaska? I'm a recent hire and haven't gotten any direction on where and how to choose how much i'm deducting for it. Will it simply rollover from virgins fidelity elections?

I got a big packet in the mail with the AS 401k info. It had the glossy brochures, but also details about all of the various fund options. I think it will still be handled under Fidelity. My 401k from a past employer is also under Fidelity and its a single login to manage both accounts so I imagine the Alaska transition will be the same.

Caution!!! I did not do an exhaustive search, but many of the Alaska 401k funds are what I would call high-fee. So look closely at what they might pick for you automatically if you don't go and make specific choices.

Are index funds an option?

In terms of going into the fidelity website, does it still say virgin 401k for you now? I'm assuming you don't make the Alaskan selection until january? For the record, I tried calling the benefits center at myalaskabenefits.com and couldn't get any answers

Default LCR Tips?

Hey fellas,

Got LCR for reserve next month and I've never done LCR before. I have already read the rule book over it and am aware of being available the day prior 12pm-3pm. Just wondering if anyone had some more tips about LCR. Hoping I can sit reserve from home and commute to SFO as needed. (Hour and half flight, about 12-14 flights a day between home and SFO)

Only thing I can add is that you can preference trips. So if you see a trip in open time that works out for you, preference it so you dont possibly get stuck with some other garbage trip.

Plan to work nearly every day. LCRs are used first.

I liked long call, but it’s not for everyone. You will work more and tend to get the crap trips that have been sitting in open time forever, but i thought it was a little more predictable than short call. It just sucked when they called you the day prior and you have to come in the night before

The day prior to your LCR periods, you can pick a trip out of open time. I think you can do so up until noon. If you dont pick anything, they can tag you the day before you start LCR up until 3pm for a trip that begins during your LCR period. I forget the precise details. Call CSS to sort it out. Its good to be able to pick your poison, but you get used LOTS.
