Virgin America Latest and Greatest

The phrase "better as a north south" airplane that Alaska is one of the dumbest sentences I've heard in a long time. Can someone please explain to me just why exactly a 737 is a better east west aircraft?
We had numerous tech stops this year due to higher than average aloft winds. However, that isn't the norm. In years of the airbus and many many many BOS-LAX runs, I have never had to tech stop once. Furthermore, it is my understanding that the 737 would have had to make the same stop but instead left passengers passengers behind and always left weight restricted.
It is far more comfortable for the crew and the passengers to ride on a wider, more comfort forward aircraft like the airbus. People at Alaska just like to have verbal dribbling diarrhea with this phrase just like they do with "it's more expensive to have two fleet types." Love seeing a gate agent have that as their comment on pulse articles. Easier to quote headlines than know facts.

Both, internal and external. The internal recommendation has more weight. I had 3, two Virgin & one Alaska

I brought 7: 2 from previous supervisors and the rest from pilots I had flown with (incl. the DO and chief pilot at the company I was leaving). I was hired w/o internal recs but I'm sure they help a LOT!
