JFK open
And feel free to bid JFK! As of right now, we're short I think almost 7 pilots. We keep hearing rumblings of growing the base but nothing concrete yet.
The downside is that it's a long time on reserve compared to the west coast, BUT I think we have pretty easy trips and the crews are all awesome!
The JFK base is kind of like it's own sovereign nation when it comes to the bases. I'm very happy here.

Well over a year. Do yourself a favor and bid for lax and sfo if you don't live within driving distance of NYC airports. You will not fly and will spend more time in a crashpad than your own home. Literally will not fly, not an exaggeration. A guy in my new hire class had three consecutive months where he did not break 14 hours of block time.

JFK is capped. Newhires are being forced NY because people on the bottom bid west. In the last class (July 27) 5 of 8 got JFK. 3 were SFO. So for JFK reserve time depends on what number you are out of the capped number of ~57. If you're at the bottom, it's going to be a long time. The FOs see some movement because the only upgrades NY FOs can get are west coast upgrades, so that creates upward movement for NY FOs. Also occasionally NY FOs bid west coast FOs so that allows movement up.
I feel bad for the bottom 6 or so JFK CAs. They are infinite reserves unless JFK grows.

Keep in mind there's a lot of pilots east of the Mississippi but not in NYC. They commute to SFO or LAX and then bid to JFK once they can hold a line. Every time there's a little movement, someone senior from out west bids in.

I wouldn't worry too much. As the Bus leases expire, AS will return them and replace them with 737s. VX pilots will either bid off or be reduced from the bottom. Those Bus skippers will either be reduced to F/O or bid the Boeing.
