The VX hiring machine is bypassing people like myself and a few others I know that have been knocking ion the door that believe in the product. The HR machine is the weak link in the process of getting your airline properly staffed. You guys are undermanned and quality people are getting picked up by the competition due to HR not being proactive. I know 2 other guys in my same shoes. One just went to B6 instead of waiting. He'll probably be LGB based before VX finally calls him.

That being said, I'm hearing that they are avoiding candidates that are competitive enough to be sucked up by legacy carriers in short order. Not that this matter because legacy carriers are still hiring our pilots but the reality that the pay/work rules will drive the other end of staffing hasn't gotten on their radar yet.

This is true. The same could probably be said about other airlines as well, but probably more prominent here. I recommended at guy a few months ago and I was told he was "added to the list". He finally got the questionnaire a few days ago....right after he finished training at a different airline.

The aluminum beanie theory is that JB does this on purpose so that we are only left with those who really want to work at JB, and/or can't get hired anywhere else. Attrition was only about 60-80 pilots for all of 2015 (3000 pilots total).
Sorry for the intrusion, carry on folks!

RJ CA here, 4 year degree with honors, Bay Area local, and have been applying for years... got the TBNT after the interview last year. HQ was impressive, and everybody seemed nice. Oh well. On to bigger and better things.
