I heard a few guys from the first class took their type rides the other day and most got either SFO or JFK.

Yeah, it's all SFO and JFK. LAX is Virgins senior base.

Are they still trying to start a class in December?

I think 2 fo's from LAX have left in the past few weeks and some of the upgrades will probably be from LAX so hopefully for everyone's sake there will vacancies there soon.

When submitting the application, I copied an pasted my resume as instructed. Should I be concerned that this caused the formatting of my resume to change? Also, is there a way to verify that a pdf version of your resume has been uploaded? I tried to upload the file, but when I reviewed my information later it stated that no pdf was on file.

Thanks for any insight or advice. I would really enjoy the opportunity to work at Virgin, and think that I would be a great fit.

Could you have edited the the format or spacing after you pasted it? You may be thinking into it too much.

Looks like a lot of junior people got LAX on the bid that came out today.

Is there any chance of bidding for solely EWR trips if you have the New York base? Or is just whatever they happen to give you?

I think this is because most of the upgrades came from LAX. It's about time though. This place has been way too stagnant for too long.

If you have the seniority. I live in NJ so for October I held all EWRs. November I sacrificed some JFKs to get Thanksgiving off. Dec and Jan all EWRs. I'm not even half way in the NY FO bid list but I still got it to work. Several guys who live in NJ, eastern PA, and the DC area prefer EWR for the drive commute.

The most junior of the EWR trips is the 3-day redeye finish. Evening flight to California, 20-23 hr layover, and then redeye back done 730am on day 3. Junior guys can hold this kind of trip but the down side is it is 3 days of work (officially) and only 12-14 hr pay.

To answer your question, yes. In PBS there is a "desire check in airport" option. Pick EWR to isolate all EWR trips, or LGAs, or JFKs.
