This is good news! I'm assuming that with 5 A320s coming this year VA will need approximately 25 pilots, of which these are the first 8 of that 25?

I don't know what VX's staffing model is per aircraft, but if it's 5 crews/aircraft, they'll need to hire 50 pilots and upgrade 25 pilots.

It's about 6 crews/plane but the official numbers for the year are 36 FOs and 4 upgrades. Subject to change (esp the upgrade numbers).

I agree.....seems that the anticipated number for upgrades is very low. Are the Captain staffing levels currently on the high or low end?

I wonder what the make up is of the class that just started? Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I'll ask once more: If you applied in 2015, have you received anything from Virgin America beyond the cognitive test that was sent to you immediately after you submitted your online application?

Neither have I, applied in early Feb. Appears as though that their hiring is staggered. Perhaps those who've applied in 2015 will hear something later this year. Fingers crossed!

Only reason I'm on property now...

Other news, 19 have started class so far this year, another class of 8 starts next week. Another class of 8 two weeks after that and supposedly one more class of 2 after that before hiring stops for the summer. Subject to change of course (37 for those counting).

More hiring will happen this fall so I believe the original 40 expected will be much higher.
