Glad to see the VX Pilot group is tired of being Sir Dick's whipping boys. Best of luck in your drive.

Just to set the record straight:
New hires at Ual have a hotel paid for, 90 hours of pay per month, perdiem 24/7, positive space home whenever you have at least 2 days off and you can keep the hotel room when you go home on the weekends, medical benefits from day 1.

Ok again VX doesn't pay for hotels during training and if I remember right it was 2500$ per month for training flat pay. Next question.

If you want to fly Airbus equipment, go to JetBlue or Spirit. Or....stay put until you can get to a Legacy.

In my opinion Virgin has had a very low attrition rate in recent years. Is there a feeling that guys were just taking a wait and see approach with the IPO payout? Will attrition be increasing now?

Most people don't get multiple carriers to choose from. I think most guys apply everywhere and take the first offer they get.

I was told by more than one to that I should wait for the IPO before I left. I do not think it was a significant number that were waiting for the IPO, but there were a few. Some were older, pre-launch guys who were hoping the IPO payout might make up for losing their retirements from earlier carriers. Some were younger pre-launch guys who were hoping to cash in too, even though the numbers suggest they would be better off going to a legacy if they had the chance. Now that the IPO is done and the guys have cashed their checks, they may pull the trigger. But often that is easier said than done when you have been some place for several years and have good seniority.
