6 landing day is probably average. So 30 min per day.

14 to 18 days of work. 7 to 9 hours per month.

We also get 60% of duty, instead of the 50% that everyone else gets. I find as often as not this is how I get paid. 6 leg day with a 2 hour sit, you're definitely looking at taking duty credit.

As an aside, the 717 isn't a B-scale, it's a much smaller airplane and as such pays lower rates than the other aircraft. We followed Delta's rates(-6%... which became -9%, so the whole pay structure at Hawaiian could be considered a B-scale). For whatever reason Delta decided to pay the 717 less than even the A220, so we got stuck with that rate.

Oh that duty rig probably helps a lot. Is the landing credit on top of that? What’s an average duty day? I have 10 in my head but I just totally made that up.

As a Delta 717 guy I can explain what's been told to me... huge swing and a miss on behalf of our NC. Apparently the 717's were supposed to be gone around mid 2020's so the NC decided it wasn't worth wasting negotiating capital on a fleet that wasn't going to stick around. I also heard from a rep that the 717 wasn't "as capable" whatever the heck that means as the 220 so they gave it a lesser paying rate. The ironic part is with all the PW/Airbus delays on the 220 the 717 ends up filling in at times for those routes. Seating capacity is identical between the 717 and 220-100 but the pay is roughly $5/hr difference which really adds up over time. Hopefully this is corrected on the next contract.

Appreciate the insight. Although 60% duty and landing credits are nice, it doesn’t help pilots on reserve or those or otherwise assigned the B717. Hopefully the JCBA will pay band (narrow body vs wide body) to avoid the argument that certain aircraft will be “phased out” anyways, mentality. It cost B767 pilots in the past at HAL. Just a thought.

It varies a lot. We have some 4 leg days that are in the range of 5-6 hours, those you just end up min credit. We have some days that are 8 legs, closer to 11 hours, although those are pretty rare now it seems like. 5-7 leg days are the norm with duty days ranging between 8 and 10 hours. Landing credit isn't on top of that, it's tagged on to flight time credit, so we get the higher of min day(4:10 for now, 5 hours starting in March), block credit(including the 6 minutes per leg), and duty credit(at 60%).

This whole operation will probably change once we get the 5 hour min day. I can't imagine seeing any more 4 leg days, I think we're going to see a lot more 6-8 leg days. The company isn't going to give that 5 hours away for free.

Yeah 4:10 is pretty sad. SkyWest had 4:12 like 10 years ago. Bummer everything doesn’t stack.

4-8 legs a day, but the credit doesnt even come in to play usually on short days as it’s just added to your duty or flight credit. I doesn’t get added on top of min daily guarantee. Current min. Is 4.10 and scheduled to go up to 5.0 next March I believe. The 5.0 credit increase is way more important than the landing credit.

Granting a B scale for a type that's on it's way out is a great way to ensure that it sticks around longer than expected
