Oof DM hints to downgrades in that email and seems to me blaming sick outs?
too many sick outs means downgrades?
as the kids would say this would seem like a soft launch to downgrades

yeah, how do downgrades help solve the problem of reserve pilots calling in sick because they are out of position?

I see the logic, but these kinds of moves are a downward spiral.
You know what's funny? There's an easy answer to a right seat shortage -- hiring.

Coming downgrades in the near future shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. It has nothing to do with sick calls. They will be driven by the staffing efficiencies of PBS, Boeing delivery problems, and slowing demand.

New FOs playing fast and loose with reserve and sicking out. They already feel like they're short in the right seat. Displace CAs to bolster the reserve levels.

After PBS was implemented, SFO peeps correct me if I’m wrong. every time you try to swap or drop it’s denied due to ARC, I have many friends who have complained about this also.
And they’re surprised people are calling out? Crazy.
They want to run a leaner reserve grid because it’s cheaper no doubt, and when the company can’t have it both ways (saving money with out degrading operational reliability) we have to pay for it by way of downgrades?
