LOL

dude you guys need to get past the DOJ first then bicker about Seniority list integration later

I remember when Jetblue and Spirit pilots were bickering about it, and in the end, it was all for naught.

I hope you guys have a better outcome…I really do but you really don’t understand the lengths that this administration will go to stick it to the Airlines.

and then I hear a lot of people say well “This is a different situation because nobody’s getting rid of a ULCC”

it doesn’t matter Joe Biden, Merrick Garland, and their cheerleader Buttigieg will find another reason to try to block this merger.

Fear Mongering, here is the quote (a tweet, not a report) from CTFN who provides “perspective on major corporate actions”:

“The DOJ appears to be taking a consistent approach to this merger as with precedent #airline deals. What does that mean for the review of Hawaiian/Alaska?”

Yes, I would expect the DOJ to be consistent in their review process a precedent has been set. There is literally no other information provided.

Thats no lie. And they’ll find their own reason to block. But it’s helpful to have local politicians and local interest parties come out in support. The voices in support don’t act/operate as a “lawsuit” obviously but it can have influence.

This one is getting approved. JB actively pulled effort into the Spirit merger, and that was already after the DOJ said no. That merger should have been blocked. You can't publicly announce that you are going to kill a nationwide business model and public offering and expect the DOJ to say "go for it!"

To be fair, they never publicly announced that plan. As I understand it, their lawyers faaked up when they failed to redact that information in court filings.

Their public filings stated exactly what I said above.

Lots of Noise… sounds like the DOJ is about to file suit to block the deal. JB’s DOJ strikes again… West Coast monopoly to the islands. What a joke! This has to be one of the worst administrations in our country’s history.

Blocking is the only way the govt can get any "shakedown" of the companies via campaign donations and lobbying. Our massive govt needs to be fed, and taxes aren't cutting it. When there is a merger or other major corporate move, it's time for the beast to be fed.
