Sorry, but you just proved what I figured out from your first post you are a sheep. Please do me a favor and review the last 3 Snacks and Facts, our COO clearly states on several occasions that we are financially sound and are on track to be a profitable airline. BOOM, guess what, we are in BAD BAD BAD Shape! News Flash they were held accountable by HUGE stock payouts that you can view for yourself on the HA investors page under SEC filings. You are leading the rest of the sheep off the cliff because your previous "Experience" with the CEO is still alive and well in your blood.

Common Sense with Heads Up, in Unity.....
One interesting thing you stated...SEC filings...yes, a lot of things go on here and if you think that this is the full picture, it is not, there are things that are done that lead to those that may, or may not, have been done to show something for a reason and the sheep follow those things. And BTW, you seem to be presenting that I am saying HA was doing great and then arguing against that....I never said that, nor did I ever say everything the C-suite says to take at face value...those are things you implied yourself and then attributed to me incorrectly, I mentioned 1 thing and you applied it to everything they said. incorrectly. In fact I just stated some is propaganda, it is part of their job...you act surprised or offended as if it is only HA and not every other company in the world...Ok, I am tired of arguing with you against things I did not say, have a great Christmas...in unity and reality...

We have enough of our own infighting.
Yes, apologies, we have our own as you can see. Look forward to working with AS folks on the line.

What is the current sick time policy at Alaska? Is it accrual with a bank or are you given a certain amount of hours every year which you have to use it or lose it? Thanks!

It's an accrual/bank system. As a new hire you are "forwarded" a year's-worth of sick leave and don't start accruing more until your anniversary

Thanks for the info, are any penalties applied for calling in sick? HA has a policy that will penalize you for the month you called in sick. HA averages the monthly pilot sick hours used and when it is over a certain number you will not acquire any sick time. Also just curious who AS uses for sick call reporting.

Merry Christmas, Unity....

No penalties. You accrue 5:30 per month if you get paid for at least 6 hours per month. You just call scheduling.

At HAL we get 7:30 per month or roughly 5:5 in the month you call in sick if the pilot group is below the mentality threshold. Zero accrued if the group exceeds it and you call in sick.

The bigger thing is it HAL we only need 3 months of sick before we go on the company LTD (VEBA). I understand you have to wait 6 at Alaska? That’s a lot of sick time to carry plus you guys accrue slower than us. Benefit to you is we only make 50% of earnings at 10 years longevity. Hopefully the JCBA will address all these details and captures the benefits.

I believe we can go out on Short Term Disability in as few as 7 days. Pays 40 percent of weekly pay up to $2200 per week and is company paid. There is an optional buy up that pushes the benefit to 60 percent of weekly pay up to $2700 per week. Second is pilot paid at $26 per month. You can supplement disability payments with sick leave up to 85 hours per month.

If you are out 60 days or more you are eligible for rapid re-accrual. Basically get half of what you use back in a secondary bank to use if you exhaust your primary bank.

I’m all for the higher accrual but the penalty deal can die on the vine.
