The best news I heard in a while is that the 737 has no-tillers on the FO side so the OEM nonsense will never raise its ugly head at AS.

fostro I think its time you give it a break
There is nothing that makes it a longer footprint because the FO can now touch the overhead panel and talk to the ground crew for push.
My airline changed from flying the Airbus like a Boeing 10 years ago in stages and its not a big deal, you will be okay. There are bigger things to think about
+ I've given you a real world example that the foot print isn't that much longer, infact the sims are less. It's all about how the training program is built

OEM increases the training footprint because FO's now become the "PIC" from the beginning and perform everything the Captain does. FO's taxing is just a small piece of the big issue with OEM. This is why OEM airlines have such long training footprints because both crews must be familiar with two tasks from the point of sitting down in the cockpit. Introduce the new hires with very minimal experience and you have a recipe for disaster. The way HA is handling OEM training is via memo, no training just a memo and the current management team is in full support of "training via memo".

No, our pilots won't let this go because this management team is running us into the ground.

FYI this has been thoroughly visited for many years by our pilot group. You are not correct, extra hours are given to the program for the FO to complete a full pushback including the extra training time for a FO taxi. Also, why aren't the Big 3 doing this? Maybe HA is on to something because we do think we are leading the industry with this. LOL.. HA is operating this now and it cost us a few million extra dollars for sim time and the like. I agree we have bigger things to think about like saving money, meanwhile, our DO and managers continue to push for the completion of full OEM on our widebodies before this deal is complete. You haven't seen the chaos that this has caused in our cockpits from the 321 pilots who are transitioning to the WB. They are confused about whose duties are who's, I just had a captain in SYD tell me he forgot it was my leg and he was waiting for me to set the brake. It is a big issue on our property but you are fortunate enough that you don't have to deal with it.

Id be willing to bet they leave the Airbus alone (OEM). And they do what makes sense with the 787. Our Flt Ops side at HAL said the merging of the certificates is far simpler because of different fleet types. If you leave the 717 alone, why wouldn't they leave the 321/330 alone until phase out? They will be full OEM or 99.9% after by the end of 2024.

If anything, we would dust off our own Airbus program and implement that with changes, before adopting HAs program if the above comments are half true.
