Oh, and we still have a vaccine section snuck into the last contract.
Eagerly awaiting the flu shot mandate, seeing how that's about all the Vid shot has amounted to.
Anyone remember the vaccinated Captain who stated he was afraid to fly with unvaxed FO's. When the one Union guy wisely responded "but you're vaccinated!" , hilarious.

Yes. Please buddy bid and insulate. Take the downgrade, somebody. And yes Hawaiian management has done nothing but let autopilot take us to CFIT. Amazon came to us for our A330s, Elon came to us because we were geographically good launch partners, Alaska bought us for B787 order books. Hey, maybe fleet diversity paid off.
Amazon owns the 330's, we bid against Sun Country. The profit margins are low enough that cargo pays $10 less/hr. Good for the people who didn't want to be in Hawaii, in which it seems like there are alot.
Great, Elon (whom I respect) gave us Starlink, something like 2 decades after all the other airlines had wifi onboard. And remember, HA management avoided wifi for years because "nobody wants wifi when leaving for a Hawaiian vacation". A flip-flop is still a flip-flop. Management is just doing what us pilots said they needed to do for years. I give management zero credit for wifi.
We just got bought, I highly doubt that was a goal of 4th floor Koapaka. They just messed up so bad that selling was all we had left. Our fleet diversity will eventually end up being 2 Boeing products, and maybe some Amazon owned 330's. They won't keep a small fleet of 18 NEO's, 717's are near the end of their life, and the 330's will eventually be replaced with SEA based 787's. HNL will eventually be a small international hub , interisland will consist of SWA style scheduling, and Alaska management isn't going to run two airlines on overlapping routes so they can "compete" against each other.
Still can't wait to break out the popcorn when the FA groups intermingle on the same flight crew. My guess is the Alaska FA's will be welcoming. I'll take bets on how welcoming the HA group will be.

AS FA's are the most welcoming I've ever seen. I've never interacted with HA.

It's only rumor, but I've heard that Ben likes A350's. And the main problem with our prior Airbii was that the lease terms were very unfavorable (I guess you could thank VA management for that one). I think yours are leased with much better terms, so I wouldn't conclude that they will automatically be replaced. But yeah, I'd bet the 717's won't last much longer.

If it means not having to fly with someone who wished their fellow pilots dismissed. Then yes, sign me up.

More 787s are years away.
I hear 330Neos, a robust Airbus fleet to include our 321s and some of the 330s with and Europe flying.

But at this point nobody knows, not even the people who will ultimately make the call. Early days.

I'm sure any and every fleet mix is being discussed and will be considered seriously... I'm confident they are lookig to optimize revenue and their future route structure and growth plans. As opposed to "The answer is Boeing. Now what's the question?"

Don’t we have something like 10 a320s still sitting in the desert? Add that to the 18 Hawaiian neos. Would close to 30 busses justify keeping the fleet around? 🤔
I would think they would want as many airframes as possible right now if they truly wanted the growth Boeing can’t seem to supply.
