Thats funny, none of that sounds worse than starting over at the bottom of a seniority list at a new company. At -$70m a quarter in the middle of the summer it doesn't sound like a career of wide body flying was in the cards for much longer. 95 years huh? AS also. Thats cool straight DOH sounds fair then to me, call your rep I'll call mine and let them know. Yah Yah unity for a JCBA.....I'm sure we will have tons of leverage combining two overstaffed pilot groups and 65 airplanes that hemmorage money like its a bodily function.

Just do straight relative seniority and call it a day. Theres already a geographical fence in place between the mainland and the islands.

Nah he's just not representative of our group in the slightest. I'm sure the SLI will be painful for everyone but the vast majority of us welcome you guys with open arms and are excited about what the future will bring.

As a SWA guy who had a ringside seat for our shotgun marriage with AirTran, I'd suggest not even checking in on this forum again until about 6 months after the SLI is announced. It is going to get ugly...happens every time. People are going to say a lot of things that they probably would like to walk back later. Your mental health and overall outlook on life will be a whole lot better if you just leave this place to the trolls and let your union be the attack dog for you.
P.S. Congrats on the DOJ ruling!

Both are 90+ year old companies, do straight date of hire and have 3-5 year fences for the WBs. There I saved time and money on arbitration.
Lets focus on getting a world class JCBA first and then squabble about the SLI.

You might get your 3-5 year fence in HNL. I doubt SEA, ANC, PDX, LAX. I'm personally hoping for a early out program simular to the Covid one. I know alot of old dudes will be gone!

I probably wouldn't expect any widebody fences outside of HNL. If they made a 787 base in Seattle I don't think it could be staffed with solely HA pilots. I really don't think there will be any fences. I think the HNL flying is pretty safe because we don't have a ton of people wanting to move out to the islands. I expect pretty much a straight relative seniority integration. It's the most painless and would have the least impact on everyone.

I personally plan on retiring on the 737 (old dude). Good luck with thinking your going to fence any Alaska pilot off any WB that possibly gets based in any current Alaska base. That will go over like a lead balloon. Thankfully, we have ALPA merger policy that will sort all this out. Arbittrators don't hand out windfalls either. Trying to fence an Alaska pilot off a new aircraft/WB in a current Alaska base is just that.
