Hopefully the waste cutting is swift. Way too many people at our HQ making way too much money to do a poor job.

Curious, will Alaska still want to continue with PF/PM on the 330/321? Or did HA just waste millions (as usual) with something that isn't going to happen?
Careful what you wish for. I think I overheard Ben saying their are way too many pilots making way too much money to do an easy job on too many type ratings on too many unprofitable routes.

HA has been around for 95 years and won’t be going away if the merger falls apart. HA pilots have the expectation to spend their entire career flying a widebody, not a 737 to Spokane or Sitka.

Regardless, unity in getting an industry leading
JCBA is more important than arguing over who is gonna get hosed more at this point.
Thats funny, none of that sounds worse than starting over at the bottom of a seniority list at a new company. At -$70m a quarter in the middle of the summer it doesn't sound like a career of wide body flying was in the cards for much longer. 95 years huh? AS also. Thats cool straight DOH sounds fair then to me, call your rep I'll call mine and let them know. Yah Yah unity for a JCBA.....I'm sure we will have tons of leverage combining two overstaffed pilot groups and 65 airplanes that hemmorage money like its a bodily function.

This guy sounds like proof what a career flying a noisy and ergonomically painful 737 does to you. Career expectations are a thing, widely acknowledged. Time to accept it.

He needs some Aloha. It’s coming his way, like it or not.

Whats the weight of the career expectation of flying for a thriving profitable company? Actually never mind we already know from the last one. Not much.

Yes, was trying to convey this. Current administration likes to think otherwise, but I don't think they will block it. From the DOT: https://www.transportation.gov/briefing-room/usdot-statement-justice-departments-lawsuit-block-proposed-jetblue-spirit-merger

Then just staple us with that attitude. It’s a wild industry. Spirit is on the brink when they were the most profitable in the biz less than a decade ago. There are limits to your logic. I see where your mind is at when we are years away from caring about this sort of thing.

As a SWA guy who had a ringside seat for our shotgun marriage with AirTran, I'd suggest not even checking in on this forum again until about 6 months after the SLI is announced. It is going to get ugly...happens every time. People are going to say a lot of things that they probably would like to walk back later. Your mental health and overall outlook on life will be a whole lot better if you just leave this place to the trolls and let your union be the attack dog for you.

P.S. Congrats on the DOJ ruling!

THIS exactly, communicate any concerns with YOUR MEC, let them put up the arguments and each side fight for what they think is "fair". In the end it's out of the line pilot's control.

I always thought ALPA SLI's should be done "baseball style" where both MEC's submit what they think is the fairest and the arbitrator is forced to just pick one or the other. It makes both sides be extremely reasonable and logical to save from disappointment.

BTW, a strong JOINT NEW PWA goes a long way in ameliorating the pilot group and it's new found divisions if the company is at all concerned.
