The difference is at HAL 100% of our widebody (and 321) flying is out and back 1-leg a day trips. Most widebody flying at the other legacies has a large percentage of multi-day W patterns. At HAL you can credit 80-85 hours in 12 days of work and only sleep in a hotel 6-8 nights.

Latest rumor was the DOJ was planning on blocking last week. Alaska asked for an extension to try and work things out. I guess we’ll know more tomorrow.

I’ve heard a hard no, but suddenly Alaska management came alive at the end. Who knows if real progress is made and parties are willing to compromise.

If it was a hard no, there wouldn't be an extension. Let's apply some common sense to the rumors...
They could still block it, but if they were a hard no, there is no reason to any of the extensions, the DOJ could simply say no and save all this mess.
