This isn't quite like B6/NK, which would have eliminated a huge chunk of ULCC capacity to the detriment of the poors.

Also the election could place any such lawsuit in doubt.
More time to ensure the right lobbyists are paid to ensure the right future campaign donations are secured and the right concessions are achieved to maintain some sort of political face.

why would an alask pilot even want one world besides pass benefits?
I'm in the 1700-2100 seniority at AS and would likley lose the most. However, I want to compete for the next 20+ years I have left.

I think what’s going to happen is the conservatives will block the deal until Trump gets in office.

Then we’ll see the blessing of AS/HA merger completion put into an immigration bill, along with an anti woke clause attached to it. Beards also included just to trigger the libs. Believe me.

I particularly don't like being in a domestic alliance. I think the revenue gained isn't worth the career expectations lost.

I'm surprised it's even legal to be honest. Alliances are nothing more than airline cartels.

I think we have 3450 pilots.

What are you losing?

I don't understand this argument. AS growth is snail pace AT BEST. What would you be gaining at AS with "organic growth" versus merging?

Probably assuming that if the merger is approved, the resulting SIL could further exacerbate the existing lack of movement and growth at Alaska.

I hear that, but you are also effectively doubling the growth plan. I don't see why this as buying Hawaiian being the growth. Hawaiian has a growth plan and so does Alaska. Alaska is in complete and total stagnation right now, where as Hawiian is running bids. I think 737 deliveries are a large problem right now but with the shortage being effectively over, AS is going back to it's typical growth of darn near next to nothing, if anyting at all, for the foreseeable future but adding an airline that also has growth plans at least doubles our potential for growth. We all know the AS "tightening of the ship" that will happen but I don't see how this will somehow be devastating to any AS pilot.

It almost feels like we are assuming Hawaiian is going to push every AS pilot out of their seat and base and while there will be some changes I am sure, I just don't see things really changing drastically.
