With the DOJ deadline fast approaching and no indication that the deal will be blocked, it appears the market is taking note with HA stock continuing to go up. I’m surprised by the total radio silence up till this point.

I would guess it has way more to do with it completing a refinance of the debt that is coming due than the merger.

They announced they were on the markets seeking this deal days ago and may have had its affect leading to todays “taker”. Everyday that goes by favors a consummation based on how little public discord between the DOJ and the airlines.

True, but there is no denying the inverse correlation between HA and ALK stock the past two days. It appears the market thinks it will happen.
