I see your point, and as I said, this information could be incorrect or overstated but until you prove otherwise, stating it's a false allegation, is to perpetuate the claim. Otz gets called out because Otz, gets/has been, PROVEN wrong, time after time. He is verifiably wrong. Unfortunately, there seems to be a number of people on here that do believe everything he says. Some even seek his, "wisdom"...
As far as lead times for interviews goes C340 it’s anyone’s guess. A friend had a meeting with a CP and got the phone call to schedule an interview about a week later. Unfortunately he had training scheduled so he hasn’t been able to interview yet.

I attended the PDX MTC event, and got the recommendation from that. I also got an internal recommendation, and I meet nearly all of their preferred requirements, including 1500 hours of jet time. I applied two days ago, after completing my ATP written, and my app says under review. All that to say, I'm optimistic.
I have a possible opportunity to go travel abroad with my brother for 9 days at the beginning of March. However, I want to give priority to an interview here, if I get one. Assuming Alaska wants to interview me, does anyone know the likelihood of interviews for someone in my position taking place within the first 10 days of March? I imagine they choose to interview in batches. When they call to schedule an interview, do they give a number of dates to choose from, and if you can't make those dates, you lose the opportunity or are pushed until the next interview cycle? Does anyone know if the currently scheduled interviews are occurring before early March? Am I being too optimistic thinking that I could be interviewing as early as the first week or two of March?
Just trying to find the balance between continuing to live life/taking opportunities when they come vs putting my life on hold and prioritizing getting hired ASAP over everything else for seniority's sake. Thanks for any and all input.

Yeah, I'm sure they'd let you take a later interview if you have a significant family commitment (you don't need to share the details with them).

I agree with the others.. absolutely take the trip, and if called for an interview just let them know that you have an international trip planned over those days. Normally I would say it’s none of their business, and to just say that you have a prior obligation, however in this environment they make take that to mean that you have a different interview scheduled for those days.
Our candidate pool is not huge, and you meet all of the criteria, which means Alaska wants you. Take the trip, and schedule the interview either before or after the trip. Good luck!

Take the trip brother. If at the end of the trip you still want to interview at Alaska then it will happen. Just let them know that April is your soonest availability. Attrition is still high enough that you will get called
