You get unlimited positive space travel during training, and most instructors try to get done early on Friday’s, so pretty each to catch a late afternoon flight every Friday, and come back late evening Sunday to be in place for class Monday morning during Indoc/Ground.

During Indoc and ground school yes, all weekend typically off. Once sims start all bets are off though. You will still have your days off in there, but may not be weekends during sims.

That is a great question… sitting as a line pilot off probation, I would say that it is definitely their problem.
As a new hire on probation… who is selecting flights for themself, I think we are talking about a different situation. Crew Scheduling is going to say “not our fault” because they didn’t schedule it for you in the first place.
At the end of the day my opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.

I’m sure it’s posted around here elsewhere, but can someone lay out AS’ initial hire training footprint, both in terms of how long each segment is (ex: indoc is 3 weeks, sims are 6 weeks, etc) and what breaks, if any, you get in between each training phase?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
