The sad thing is you think you have the greenest grass but it’s just the septic tank that is Alaska.

Geezus dude give it a rest. Not one person here thinks alaska has the greenest grass. The new contract is mediocre. Hopefully the Union can do better next cycle.

You and like 8 others like you on here b!tch about how miserable you are non stop.
Yeah, virgin was better (would virgin even be around today if a merger never happened?), yeah pay rates aren’t as good as delta and yeah it sucks for the east coasters there’s no east coast bases. We’ve heard it… over and over. The jobs f!kn easy and QOL is very similar to any other NB gig as much as you don’t want to believe that.

Nope, nope, nope, the angry 8 aren’t happy until you’re not happy. It’s all part of the miserable existence they live in thinking they know everything, and are smarter than the rest of their fellow pilot group.

Greenest? No. But I do smart gardening to make the backyard appealing.

I did ask a Delta pilot.

If you are a Delta pilot, I’ll ask you too. You got a reserve line. Say your guarantee is 75 hrs. Now regular open time opens up for line holders. Can you, as a reserve pilot, pick up any opentime trip on reserve day off, from the opentime pot and get paid over guarantee? Eg, pay from 75 hrs becomes 86 hrs pay for picking up a 2-day worth 11 hrs.

Because I’ve heard the answer to that is no.

Well my understanding is no. It’s like JetBlue. As reserve pilot, if you pick up a straight pay on days off, it doesn’t count as extra pay over guarantee. It simply fills your reserve bucket hours. At AS, it doesn’t count towards your reserve bucket hours. It counts as extra pay-only.

Amazing though. People are convinced Delta is better, but they don’t even know what rules they have.

As a reserve, I can pick up two 2-day trips on days off and up my pay from 79 to 100 hrs. That’s a neat feature to have.

deleted my post yesterday but feel it’s time to set the story straight.

DAL pilots cannot pickup straight open time while in reserve month. This is a good thing. If I’m reserve I want more pay and same time off I had before if I pickup. Ability to pickup straight time open as reserve is a race to the bottom. More work, more pay…awesome. Except at DAL by blocking this, we do…

Allow reserve pilot to pickup “green slips” on days off. This pays above guarantee and also gives the reserve pilot their next reserve block of days “payback days”.

seems like you’re fishing on this one. Straight pickup as reserve might work for a few but the delta system works for the whole group.

I would hate to see open time pickups as a reserve for straight pay above guarantee without restoring time off later. It would increase productivity immensely and decrease the amount of jobs we have overall fairly dramatically.

And green slips are seniority based…. Correct?

So if I’m a 4 month street Capt, I’m not getting it. How do I make money above rsv guarantee then?

For your first one but then it goes down the list to the next person who hasn't had one. It isnt just some system where only the senior get their cake and eat it too. I've been pretty junior and turned the system off because I'm tired of the phone calls and guess what they still come in a different format via inverse assignment albeit not as much thankfully. And if youre a 4 month street Captain you just walked into $310-$320/hr in a years time frame so barring any major financial issues I doubt anyone is going to be crying over missing a GS when theyre making 20-22k a month.
