Yep. And we're no where near any of them, with a weaksauce snap clause that won't match them.
well sadly seems like Americans might fall through…10 year implementation timeline Jesus and I thought ours was bad

Yep. And we're no where near any of them, with a weaksauce snap clause that won't match them.

We aren’t out of woods. It’s a continuing situation with high inflation across the world, and a Fed here that was late to react and trying to slow the economy down to control inflation.


Hawaiian isn’t in the calculation so I left them out. I only know two HAL pilots, both are ****ed at their new contract.

I don’t know what metric you use to say “aren’t near them.” Because if you are going by pay only, I’d be comfortable to put my earning comparator on a days on vs days off basis with any of the big 5 airlines.

Not everyone wants, nor should they want, to fly 1000 hours a year like you do. Your comparison is invalid.

I haven’t flown a 1,000 hrs since my regional airline days.


Even at VX it was about 900-930 hrs because there was just NO way to get any soft money at VX.


AS is the first time I have created a spread between credit and actual block hour pay. I’m flying less per year than Virgin.

It’s not a 10 year implementation timeline at AA. The company doesn’t want financial penalties if they miss whatever time lines are agreed to. APA’s is saying hell to the no, because the current book still has items not implemented from 10 years ago. But you’re right about one thing, the AIP might fall through on this sticking point, which it should if AA doesn’t come around. AA management can not be trusted to just do the right thing.

This is completely false. Look at their work rules, ON TOP of their industry leading pay. Alaska’s contract compared to Delta’s looks like a regionals. Any Delta pilot can attest to this.

I did. As a reserve pilot, I pull far ahead. They can only milk it by picking up green slips on days off, which are seniority based. Junior guy can probably forget it. If they pick up a pure regular pay open time trip on days off, it doesn’t go for extra pay only. It just fills their reserve bucket for flight hours and helps them get their monthly max sooner.

AS is the only major I’ve seen so far where a reserve pilot can just go randomly into opentime as soon as it opens up, and just do a pure addon to their days off for extra pay on TOP of guarantee.

Good nugget not many other airlines have. As a line holder, this year I have yet to have a month under 100 hrs credit, and I typically pull that off with about 14-15 days off.

Do you realize Delta pilots work less and credit more? Nobody wants to pick up open time on their days off. Well everyone but you. I wouldn’t want to be one who works 20+ days on reserve just to pick up some additional flying that the company can’t staff properly. Days off are more important. I’d tell you to read through the Delta contract, but I’m sure you “know someone who told you something” instead. Do your homework.

Forgot to mention. With their much higher hourly rate, it only makes it easier for them to work much less than you. Which in return, adds to more real days off as well.

I’ve seen Delta 737 line awards. Not impressed. As I said, the grass is greener syndrome.
