I agree with this, but that said, I would not be surprised to see the company snap the pay up anyway - they know it’s a pilot’s market and 600 new pilots/yr need reasons to come to AS instead of other places. Make no mistake though - it’ll be a business decision, not something from the goodness of a heart.

No I didn’t. I mentioned a potential / possibility. I’m not counting on anything other than $306 now and $318 come Sept 1. But unlike some on APC, I won’t be miserable about it.

The amount of times I catch myself wanting to say “dude how long have you worked here” is astounding. How anyone thinks this company will part with a single penny voluntarily is absolutely laughable. Management would run this operation into the ground due to attrition smiling and laughing with their boot on the neck of the pilot group every single time. Unless there is copper bottomed language you’ll never see your money. Even then it will be from a grievance 2-3 years later. That is SOP. For anything, not just the “average” snap up that clearly isn’t happening. “Watch the magic…” good lord.

It's not whining, it's people who have to spend their entire careers with this pilot group begging the 82% to recognize that they made a mistake at the expense of all of us who know our worth. You are probably right that nothing in our control will change the outcome in the immediate future, but the rest of us are looking to the next round, whenever that may be, and nothing will be different that time either unless we all collectively acknowledge the mistakes that were made this time.

Bad. The pilot who cannot recognize weak contract language or doesn't do due diligence to assure that the contract will perform as intended.
Worse. The pilot who doesn't care about industry parity as long as he is a top dog among Alaska Airlines pilots. As long as he is crushing it against his company peers, then he'd prefer to not be aware of other airlines outperforming him.
Worst. The pilot who actually wants to work for less because it's "good for the company."
Which one are you?

Your worth is limited by your lack of career portability and the seniority system. Fact.
Management doesn’t need to make you happy, they just need enough to stop the sub 4 yr guys leaving, which is where the overwhelming majority of attrition lies.
