TA is here

Thanks for this. I love starting my morning with a good laugh. Its impressive, the amount of time you're spending, carefully crafting your soap box from which to preach your moral superiority. I see you're a new poster but most likely not a new reader. I'm sure, through the years, you've read Otz's posts. You know the ones where he call everyone: morons, stupid, failures, clueless etc. etc..... He belittles anyone that has a legitimate gripe with the company. He berates anyone who voices their discontent with the contract. His identity is so wrapped up with being an AS pilot, that he confuses any voiced dissatisfaction with the company, as a personal attack on him. Because how could such a great man work for anything less than a great company, right?? He clearly has a personality disorder. Proven by his incessant need to be right. Even when not right, he performs some mental gymnastics to become righ. You don't have to have a psych degree to see it.
It's also laughable that you and others on here keep pushing this narrative of, "no voters are spewing hate for yes voters while yes voters are simply spreading love and knowledge"... I'm sure you're fully capable of reading back through the pages and seeing it's been a tit for tat exchange and both yes and no voters have played the same game. Let's not try and fool each other now.
As for me, the TA didn't meet my expectations, I voted no. It passed, nothing I can do about it now so I'll learn the contract and move on. We can revisit this in a year to see if either of our concerns were legitimate.

2. There’s been at least one poster saying he’s got his “I voted no” bag tag all ready to roll. Have seen a single yes voter say they’ve got their “You’re Welcome!!” bag tags printed up.
3. The “soap box” of moral (I would say “intellectual”) superiority upon which many (not all) no vote posters have stood for the last month would hold a year’s supply. As evidence…..
4. “Chicken little”… “Kool-aid drinkers”….”garbage TA”…. “Steaming pile”….. we’re just gonna have to disagree on whether or not it’s a false equivalency to the vitriol spewed by no’s and yes’s the same. (By all means quote the equally pejorative vitriol by “yes” posters and prove me wrong.)

A 1500 pilot turn out for the April 1st picket, and later a 98% Strike Authorization Vote, suggests that a LOT more than 30 guys were not happy with the way things are/were at AS.

- 7.D: Vacation Trading
- Once PBS is implemented a single day of vacation may be traded only once a month as a “stand alone” day. Pilots can still trade an unlimited amount of two contiguous days or more of vacation throughout the year.
- Pilots may trade an unlimited number of single vacation days into a month if that day touches another contiguous block of vacation days.

Dude I am not a yes vote advocate. I think everyone should vote what they feel. Please vote no, if you don’t like the TA.
I really, really want to attend the SFO roadshow. That is truly a can’t miss sob fest. I am absolutely going to clear my calendar, bringing the best 🥃🥃🥃, and just watch the show😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣

Here is the evidence… I was really rude and hurt some of the super sensitive with this one. Very similar to what the angry 30 write🤔

One could easily say the same thing about those spewing doom and gloom about the economy. BTW I'm still searching for a parking spot at the SEA short term parking lot... Seems there are either a lot of employees parking here or there is an incredible demand for flying by passengers who don't care how much parking costs.

I was a huge advocate for a new contract. I wanted the industry for all Alaska pilots. I just wasn’t stupid and wanting $500hr, 25 days a month off, and a new pony!

I don't know. I'm not an economist. That is why I didn't factor a future I can't predict into my voting equation. I can predict our staffing levels based on our last system bid. Because it states the number of lines for each base. You can see the growth there. That led me to believe that pilots will be at a premium going forward. That factored heavily in my voting equation.

I think it will still be in the current vacation trading system, the way it is now. I can't remember what the timeline is for vacation trading off the top of my head - something like 6 weeks out, or 8 weeks? But its just limiting dropping a single stand alone vacation day to only be allowed once in a month. Still unlimited trading of two or more days, or tacking an additional day into a block of other days or onto another single day. And to compensate for that we get those golden days to place for things like birthdays/anniversaries, so that you don't always need to drop a vacation day there to get those type of events off.
