All I can say looking in from the outside is did you all not notice what happened at Horizon?
The first "Retention" TA this spring was straight trash/dogfood, and clearly aimed at a 50% +1 pass, but the Union still brought it to the pilot group to vote "without comment." We could all read between the lines.
I don't know what your reps will tell you at your next meeting, but there is logic in empowering your MEC/NC by shooting down the company's "last and best offer."
The vote for this TA is calling their bluff that "they can't do better."
Also second the HORRIBLE precedent on retro pay for dragging their feet for 3 years.

You come across as a know it all. Do you actually have any real world experience on any pilot union or are you just another keyboard warrior? I apologize in advance; I’m not trying to pick on you. Just because a TA gets voted down doesn’t mean that the NMB can and/or will “ice” the two parties involved. In the case of Alaska, a TA was achieved outside of mediation. In any case, the NMB can’t arbitrarily park anyone. There’s a process for that. Did you know that was a tactic used by our own negotiators/MEC as a fear tactic against their own pilot group in the last contract that we voted on? More importantly, which party desperately needs a contract here at Alaska? Fear not!

Vote yes = make AS more buyable
Alaska is for sale. Hence the crappy scope clause in this TA and sub par almost everything else. Nothing industry leading. Management is doing their due diligence and trying to get AS pilots to vote yes and become the bottom feeders of all the legacies and mainline carriers. Makes AS more likely to be acquired with a cheaper pilot group. Know your worth!

Outsider F9’er looking in. Vacation credit of 3:45 is a joke. We have 5/day with our PBS. Two weeks wipe out a month. DC should match whatever top 5 go to instead of a limit of 17. These rates cover inflation. As a regional Captain it would be a joke to go to Alaska under these rates. You wouldn’t make more money. It will solve the attrition but won’t attract anyone. You will be waiting for the snap up to attract regional guys again. Everything I see is just bringing you up to snuff with what we all have already minus the updated rates for inflation. I would send it back but good luck either way. You are paving the road forward for the rest.

On here, I am embarrassed to be a pilot. You have the dirty 30 throwing a tantrum, like 2 year olds. People from other airlines chiming in because they are scared our deal will affect their pie in the sky dreams. What I learned today, never volunteer! Our LEC, our MEC, and our NC are stack full of the best people, I am thankful for their tireless efforts. We will go 306, 330-335, 345-355 with this deal. Alpa National has vetted it. I’m sorry you didn’t get a pony, nor understand economics. You are miserable and angry because that is who you are.
My unscientific pm poll at last count was 31-5 for the TA

Wasn't bashing. Just restating things you said previously and they dont really help overall at times. If you really are an advocate for pilots being educated and making the right decision for them and their families, just encourage that idea. I agree some people need to hear the tough comments, but everyone needs to get the information from valid sources. Bashing your head against the wall is understandable, just as alpa has done after some of your back and forth. We need to help each other with information. Not pound our chest at who is right or wrong or point the finger at people for stupid comments. This would be a great tool to help educate and gain information, but most of the BS on here is embarrassing for all pilots and pilot groups.
